Everlasting Glow Stick Review

I contacted UVPaqlite a few weeks ago to inquire about doing a review of there products. They graciously sent me a review package. I got one medium UVPaqlite, one ToobLite, one ToobLite mini, and a package of GIDS.

I’m going to start off by explaining what each of these products are and what I feel their intended purpose is. The medium UVPaqlite is a foldable rollable glow in the dark panel. It will work as a night light, or a light to find an item in the dark. The ToobLite and ToobLite mini are similar to chem lights or glow sticks. The GIDS are 1.25″ dots, they come with a sticky spot to mount them. They are intended to be put on light switches, or other items that you need to find in the dark.

I am reviewing the ToobLite and ToobLite mini. The UVPaqlite and GIDS review will follow.
So for the first week I’ve just had them in various places in my room as additional lighting. I used the Toolbite mini on the light switch of a standing lamp, the UVPaqlite on the floor as a marker/night light, and the ToobLite hanging from the ceiling. So far I like them. I used the UVPaqlite to find some socks one night, and to find my way down the stairs another.
I am going to write my reviews daily, as I use each product.

ToobLite mini real test day 1. I am now carrying the mini in my pocket on my edc keychain. I have found that if there is any light the mini is useless unless it has been charged within 20 minutes and what you want to see is within about 2 inches. Now I understand this isn’t exactly what it was made for, but I’m giving it a real life test here.
On my way home from work I placed it in my ash tray that has a small light. It charged up and I used it to find the right key and the key hole on the door. I attempted to use it in the house, but the night lights created too much light and it was useless. Although it was dark enough I used it to get up the stairs. I held it close to them and it illuminated them enough I could see the next step.
It survived day one, and now I’m going to see what day two will bring. So far it is a winner.

Day 2 of the ToobLite mini brought good results as well. I did nothing with it at work, carried it in my pocket all day. When I got home I used it to find the key hole on the door. I was amazed, it was hard to see, but it worked. It had been almost 24 hours since the little thing had seen light. And it still had enough energy left to let me get in the house. It’s still a keeper with me.

Day 3 after a brief exposure to light I showed it to a friend that was impressed with its brightness on that little bit of a charge. He was really amazed that it held the charge for a couple hours. In my opinion it needs more than that few seconds to really stand out. We both agree, we like it.

Day 4 this is a really important test to me. It stayed in my pocket all day. No observation for today.

Day 5 still in my pocket untill late in the evening. When I pulled it out of my pocket, it was still glowing. It was very dim. I could not use it to illuminate anything, and I couldn’t even get a picture of it. It failed. Finally I beat this glow stick. I had been trying to defeat it and I was finally sucessful.

This tells me a lot. The manufacture claims that it will last all night. It did, its not as bright as a chemical light. But with a good several minute charge it will be bright enough to last a few hours. I am over all very happy with the Toolbite mini and I highly recommend it as a keychain or marker where little light is needed.

ToobLite the real review begins. I am putting the ToobLite through some of the most practical tests I can think of. I am testing the product untill it fails.

Day 1. Since I already know about how far I can push the products I am only doing a short test on the brightness. I ran it through the same charge as I did the mini. About 20 minutes in the little light in my car. The ToobLite seams to be about twice as bright as the mini. Which it should considering it is twice as long. It was easier to see the key hole and get in the door. But you couldn’t really see any further than with the mini. So far so good.

Day 2. Today I left it laying on my stair case all day. When I got home I could see it glowing on the top step. It provided enough light that I could see the step. That’s about all. It must have not got enough sun to glow brightly. This may be an issue on cloudy days. But they can be charged by flashlight or other light source.

Day 3. Today I took the ToobLite in my pocket again and used it at work. It helped illuminate dark areas. I charged it every chance I got. At one point you could see it glowing through my pants pocket. With charging it then immediatly using it, it does wonderful and is very bright. I still love it and that made my mind up.

Over all from my brief playing with the UVPaqlite and GIDS, along with my extensive testing of the ToobLite and ToobLite mini. I am very satisfied with these products. I like them so well I am willing to give them my personal recommendation.
